How Tank Water Soakers Work
Simply lower the Water Soaker through the fill point or inspection chamber of your fuel tank, letting it sink into place at the bottom of the tank, and secure using the attached cord. Water is fully absorbed, the nylon bladder expands into the mesh containment tube and then should be removed and discarded responsibly. It is recommended that each Water Soaker should be inspected weekly and replaced at least every three months.
Condensation occurs in all fuel storage tanks & causes contamination in the form of water that settles on the bottom of the tank - remove this water using a "Water Soaker".
How To Use:
- Lower the water soaker into the tank, attach using the 3m cord (ensure it’s sitting on the bottom of the tank)
- When water is fully absorbed, the nylon bladder expands into the mesh containment tube
- Check weekly
- All versions are 300mm long
- WS2 (diameter when full of water: 56mm) absorbs 489ml
- WS3 (diameter when full of water: 100mm) absorbs 1.59L
Bio Diesel Bugs
Water can enter your tank and contaminate the fuel stored inside. Due to its density, water sinks to the bottom and is a fundamental cause of bacteria growth when in contact with new Bio Diesels. Commonly called 'Bugs in Fuel', if not removed, these 'Bugs' reproduce and create a Bio Film which contaminates the inside of your tank. Their waste produces more water and a sludge that is the main cause of machinery damage and failure, leading to costly downtime and loss of productivity. Using Water Soakers can limit the risk, as its clever design means that it attracts water and absorbs it.

Delivery Terms
The delivery of a tank can be confusing as each manufacturer offers a slightly different service and lead time. Please refer to our Delivery Information page. Standard tank deliveries are "kerbside", which means the tank will be delivered to the kerb only and not positioned further. Should you have specific delivery requirements or restrictions, please contact us to discuss.
Tanks over 2,500L — articulated lorry, customer offload
These tanks are delivered on an articulated vehicle (approximately 16.5m long × 2.6m wide × 3m high) which has no offloading on board. It is the customer's responsibility to offload the tank, which may require a telehandler or forklift.
Curtain-sided vehicles are also used, so please note that if there are obstacles or overhanging branches on the road to the delivery site, the driver may refuse to drive to the location due to the risk of damaging the vehicle. Please let us know about any obstructions before delivery so we can arrange alternative transport.
18-tonne tail-lift HGV
This vehicle is roughly the size of the largest bin lorries — approximately 8.2m long × 2.6m wide × 4m high, and often curtain-sided. If there are overhanging branches, these vehicles will not attempt the route, so a smaller vehicle should be requested.
Tanks are lowered to the ground but not positioned, as this is a kerbside delivery. If a smaller vehicle is required, email sales@fueltankshop.co.uk quoting your order number and name.
HIAB delivery
HIAB delivery is available but must be requested, and carries an additional cost. Email sales@fueltankshop.co.uk quoting your order number and name, and we'll come back to you with a price.
Accessories
Most accessories are delivered within 1–3 working days. Certain products and postcodes may take longer — check the product page for current information. If you need them sooner we can sometimes offer a next-day service; please contact us to discuss. If an item is out of stock we'll advise the expected lead time, and you're free to cancel for a full refund.
Returns Information
Customers may return items within 14 calendar days, as set out in section 7 of our Terms & Conditions.
All items must be returned unused. Refunds cannot be issued for used or previously installed items.
Please be aware that returning a tank can be complicated and expensive, so do check you're ordering the correct item — we strongly suggest checking the dimensions carefully before you buy.
