Klargester BioDisc BX Sewage Treatment Plant- 9 People
The Klargester BioDisc sewage treatment plant provides a reliable, efficient and environmentally safe solution to your sewage disposal needs perfect for domestic dwellings without access to mains drainage. Ideal for locations where discharge is to sub-surface irrigation (soakaway), or to a suitable watercourse where approved by the Regulator, and where a septic tank will not meet the required standards. The Klargester BioDisc is a packaged sewage treatment plant utilising Rotating Biological Contractor technology for small domestic applications. This process offers inherent cost and performance benefits with a low carbon footprint. In normal domestic situations the BioDisc will produce effluent qualities of 8mg/I BOD, 13mg/I SS, 4mg/I ammonia and 2mg/I phosphate. Using rotating biological contractor technology the BioDisc delivers a pollution removal level in excess of 95%
Choose from either Gravity or Integral Pumped System (IPS):
Gravity is the standard no cost option, however where the inlet to the watercourse or soakaway is higher than the outlet of the treatment plant you will require the optional Integral Pumped System (IPS) as this will pump the waste water uphill and into your discharge point. The pumped system (IPS) also comes with a high level alarm.

Delivery
All the our Klargester tanks are for delivery by customer offload. This entails the customer to acquire the right manpower and/or machinery to help unload the tank/s from the delivery vehicle.
If you require assistance with offloading, we may be able to offer a tail lift (lowers the tank to the ground) or HIAB (lorry with a mounted crane to winch the tank off the delivery vehicle). Please contact us if this is required for delivery.
Do you require Commissioning?
To ensure your system operates to maximum efficiency, we recommend tried and tested Commissioning by our own British Water and Safe Building trained engineers. Our unrivalled knowledge means that we are best placed to carry out bespoke assessments to get your system up and running. The commissioning will also provide you with a unique checklist against your system, ensuring your complete peace of mind and reassurance that your system's mechanical and electrical components are in good working order.
What's included in the commissioning?
The below is carried out out by a Kingspan Service Engineer, and will only be checked if the unit has been installed in line with the provided installation guidelines.
- Check Plant is level, 5mm tolerance
- Confirm the ground around the plant is level, flat and that the lid securely fastens
- Confirm the panel has been mounted correctly
- Make the required connections to the panel using correct glands
- Make all electrical connections within the tank
- Ensure all safety guards are fitted
- Sat all greasomatics within the plant (if applicable)
- Check belt/chain tension and alignment
- Check pump float activates freely (pumped discharge only)
- Check operation of sludge return pump (nitrification plants only)
- Check direction of disc pack
- Check levels within unit
- Test and set any Alarms supplied with the unit
If the BioFicient/BioTec has been purchased, commissioning includes the above plus:
- Check the air blower is secure
- Set forward feed airlift (larger plants)
- Make sure there is adequate air supply
- Connect all airlines and set valves
- Make sure BioZones have adequate air supply
- Wire and set timer solenoid for sludge return (if applicable)
On completion they will provide a site specific commissioning certificate

Delivery Terms
The delivery of a tank can be confusing as each manufacturer offers a slightly different service and lead time. Please refer to our Delivery Information page. Standard tank deliveries are "kerbside", which means the tank will be delivered to the kerb only and not positioned further. Should you have specific delivery requirements or restrictions, please contact us to discuss.
Tanks over 2,500L — articulated lorry, customer offload
These tanks are delivered on an articulated vehicle (approximately 16.5m long × 2.6m wide × 3m high) which has no offloading on board. It is the customer's responsibility to offload the tank, which may require a telehandler or forklift.
Curtain-sided vehicles are also used, so please note that if there are obstacles or overhanging branches on the road to the delivery site, the driver may refuse to drive to the location due to the risk of damaging the vehicle. Please let us know about any obstructions before delivery so we can arrange alternative transport.
18-tonne tail-lift HGV
This vehicle is roughly the size of the largest bin lorries — approximately 8.2m long × 2.6m wide × 4m high, and often curtain-sided. If there are overhanging branches, these vehicles will not attempt the route, so a smaller vehicle should be requested.
Tanks are lowered to the ground but not positioned, as this is a kerbside delivery. If a smaller vehicle is required, email sales@fueltankshop.co.uk quoting your order number and name.
HIAB delivery
HIAB delivery is available but must be requested, and carries an additional cost. Email sales@fueltankshop.co.uk quoting your order number and name, and we'll come back to you with a price.
Accessories
Most accessories are delivered within 1–3 working days. Certain products and postcodes may take longer — check the product page for current information. If you need them sooner we can sometimes offer a next-day service; please contact us to discuss. If an item is out of stock we'll advise the expected lead time, and you're free to cancel for a full refund.
Returns Information
Customers may return items within 14 calendar days, as set out in section 7 of our Terms & Conditions.
All items must be returned unused. Refunds cannot be issued for used or previously installed items.
Please be aware that returning a tank can be complicated and expensive, so do check you're ordering the correct item — we strongly suggest checking the dimensions carefully before you buy.
How to return an item
- Complete the form on our returns page with details of your order.
- Once your request is approved, we'll issue a Returns Authorisation Number (RAN) along with instructions on how and where to return your order, and any costs involved.
