Aztecs EMPROTEC EHPD 10W-40 Diesel Engine Oil
The EMPROTEC EHPD 10W-40 is a premium mid-ash heavy-duty diesel engine oil engineered to meet the lubrication demands of modern commercial engines.
Blended with high-quality base oils and Aztec's proprietary Adaptive Molecular Technology, this lubricant offers outstanding efficiency, robust protection, and long-term reliability - especially n engines with sensitive after-treatment systems.
Recommended Applications
- A flexible choice for mixed fleets that operate in a range of climates and loads. Good where some engines require better high-temperature film strength but the fleet still wants acceptable cold-start flow. Works well in turbocharged highway trucks, coaches and some off-highway equipment.
- Emission-controlled engines: formulated for engines with Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF), Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), or Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) systems, thanks to its mid-ash design.
- Compatible with mixed-fleet operations (modern and legacy engines) where a robust 10W-40 grade oil is specified or acceptable. ACEA E7/E11, API SN/CK-4, Caterpillar ECF-3, Cummins CES 20086/20081, DAF E9, Daimler Trucks DTFR 15C100 (MB 228.31), Detroit DFS 93K222, Deutz DQC III-18 LA, Iveco TLS E9, Jaso DH-2, Mack E0-0 Premium Plus, MAN M 3775, MTU Type 2.1, Renault Trucks RLD-3, Volvo VDS-4.5
Key Benefits
- Improved Engine efficiency: Thanks to its 10W-40 Viscosity and modern base oils, it supports smoother cold starts and lower friction under load.
- After-Treatment Compatibility: Mid-Ash content helps preserve DPF's, SCR catalysts, and other emissions systems
- Extended Drain Intervals: Excellent oxidative stability and shear resistance help maximise service life
- Engine Cleanliness: Advanced detergents keep pistons, rings, and injectors clean by dispersing soot and deposits effectively
- Wear Protection: Strong additive package guards against wear, corrosion, and thermal breakdown, extending engine life
- Adaptive Performance: Aztec's Adaptive Molecular Technology dynamically adjusts to engine conditions, optimizing lubricity and power

Delivery Terms
The delivery of a tank can be confusing as each manufacturer offers a slightly different service and lead time. Please refer to our Delivery Information page. Standard tank deliveries are "kerbside", which means the tank will be delivered to the kerb only and not positioned further. Should you have specific delivery requirements or restrictions, please contact us to discuss.
Tanks over 2,500L — articulated lorry, customer offload
These tanks are delivered on an articulated vehicle (approximately 16.5m long × 2.6m wide × 3m high) which has no offloading on board. It is the customer's responsibility to offload the tank, which may require a telehandler or forklift.
Curtain-sided vehicles are also used, so please note that if there are obstacles or overhanging branches on the road to the delivery site, the driver may refuse to drive to the location due to the risk of damaging the vehicle. Please let us know about any obstructions before delivery so we can arrange alternative transport.
18-tonne tail-lift HGV
This vehicle is roughly the size of the largest bin lorries — approximately 8.2m long × 2.6m wide × 4m high, and often curtain-sided. If there are overhanging branches, these vehicles will not attempt the route, so a smaller vehicle should be requested.
Tanks are lowered to the ground but not positioned, as this is a kerbside delivery. If a smaller vehicle is required, email sales@fueltankshop.co.uk quoting your order number and name.
HIAB delivery
HIAB delivery is available but must be requested, and carries an additional cost. Email sales@fueltankshop.co.uk quoting your order number and name, and we'll come back to you with a price.
Accessories
Most accessories are delivered within 1–3 working days. Certain products and postcodes may take longer — check the product page for current information. If you need them sooner we can sometimes offer a next-day service; please contact us to discuss. If an item is out of stock we'll advise the expected lead time, and you're free to cancel for a full refund.
Returns Information
Customers may return items within 14 calendar days, as set out in section 7 of our Terms & Conditions.
All items must be returned unused. Refunds cannot be issued for used or previously installed items.
Please be aware that returning a tank can be complicated and expensive, so do check you're ordering the correct item — we strongly suggest checking the dimensions carefully before you buy.
How to return an item
- Complete the form on our returns page with details of your order.
- Once your request is approved, we'll issue a Returns Authorisation Number (RAN) along with instructions on how and where to return your order, and any costs involved.
