Blue Antifreeze Ready to use - 1000L IBC
Proven Cooling System Protection for Traditional & mixed-Metal Engines
The Blue Antifreeze Ready to Use- 1000L IBC is a high-quality, pre-mixed engine coolant formulated to deliver dependable freeze protection, corrosion resistance and thermal stability. Based on proven inhibitor technology, this blue antifreeze is particularly well suited to traditional cooling systems and older engine designs, while remaining compatible with many mixed-metal systems.
Ideal for passenger car and light commercial vehicle fleets.
Based on monoethylene glycol and organic additive technology, it is suitable for use in both petrol and diesel engines, contains no nitrites, amines, phosphates, borates, silicates and no other mineral additives.
Supplied in a 1000-Litre IBC, it offers a practical and cost-effective bulk solution for workshops, depots and operators managing multiple vehicles or machines.
Applications
- Cars, vans, and light commercial vehicles
- HGVs and buses (where blue antifreeze is specified)
- Agricultural machinery and tractors
- Construction and plant equipment
- Classic and older vehicles requiring traditional antifreeze
- Workshops, service centres and fleet depots
Features & Benefits
- Ready to Use Formula - Pre-diluted to the correct ration - no mixing required, ensuring consistent protection and reducing handling errors
- Reliable Freeze & Boil Protection - Helps prevent freezing in cold conditions while maintaining efficient heat transfer at operating temperatures.
- Traditional Inhibitor Technology - Designed to protect iron, steel, brass and copper components commonly found in older cooling systems
- Corrosion & Scale Protection - Helps minimise rust, corrosion and limescale build-up, extending cooling system life
- Clear Blue Identification - Easily recognisable colour helps prevent cross-contamination with other coolant types
- Consistent Bulk Supply - 1000L IBC format ensures reliable availability for high-consumption operations.
How to Use
- Ensure the engine is cool before opening the cooling system
- Drain existing coolant if changing antifreeze type or as part of scheduled maintenance
- Fill the cooling system directly with the ready-to-use antifreeze
- Bleed the system according to vehicle or equipment manufacturer instructions
- Check levels after initial operation and top up if required
Blue Antifreeze Ready to Use does not require dilution and gives -40°C freeze protection. However, should a lower freeze protection be required, the table below shows the possible dilution rates and resulting temperature protection. Dilute with deionised water for optimum results:
| Blue Antifreeze Ready to Use (vol %) | Water (vol %) | Freeze Protection (°C) |
| 66 | 34 | -20 |
| 100 | 0 | -40 |
Delivery
All our Landowner IBCs are for delivery by customer offload. This entails the customer to acquire the right manpower and/or machinery to help unload the tank/s from the delivery vehicle. An onsite Forklift/telehandler is required for offloading delivery of this product.
If you require any specific requirements regarding delivery, please call us before order is placed, where we will try and accommodate this facility for you.

Delivery Terms
The delivery of a tank can be confusing as each manufacturer offers a slightly different service and lead time. Please refer to our Delivery Information page. Standard tank deliveries are "kerbside", which means the tank will be delivered to the kerb only and not positioned further. Should you have specific delivery requirements or restrictions, please contact us to discuss.
Tanks over 2,500L — articulated lorry, customer offload
These tanks are delivered on an articulated vehicle (approximately 16.5m long × 2.6m wide × 3m high) which has no offloading on board. It is the customer's responsibility to offload the tank, which may require a telehandler or forklift.
Curtain-sided vehicles are also used, so please note that if there are obstacles or overhanging branches on the road to the delivery site, the driver may refuse to drive to the location due to the risk of damaging the vehicle. Please let us know about any obstructions before delivery so we can arrange alternative transport.
18-tonne tail-lift HGV
This vehicle is roughly the size of the largest bin lorries — approximately 8.2m long × 2.6m wide × 4m high, and often curtain-sided. If there are overhanging branches, these vehicles will not attempt the route, so a smaller vehicle should be requested.
Tanks are lowered to the ground but not positioned, as this is a kerbside delivery. If a smaller vehicle is required, email sales@fueltankshop.co.uk quoting your order number and name.
HIAB delivery
HIAB delivery is available but must be requested, and carries an additional cost. Email sales@fueltankshop.co.uk quoting your order number and name, and we'll come back to you with a price.
Accessories
Most accessories are delivered within 1–3 working days. Certain products and postcodes may take longer — check the product page for current information. If you need them sooner we can sometimes offer a next-day service; please contact us to discuss. If an item is out of stock we'll advise the expected lead time, and you're free to cancel for a full refund.
Returns Information
Customers may return items within 14 calendar days, as set out in section 7 of our Terms & Conditions.
All items must be returned unused. Refunds cannot be issued for used or previously installed items.
Please be aware that returning a tank can be complicated and expensive, so do check you're ordering the correct item — we strongly suggest checking the dimensions carefully before you buy.
