Apollo Smart
Apollo Smart Oil Tank Energy Monitor: the world’s first home oil monitor. Designed specifically for domestic oil heating installations (bunded and single-skin tanks). Not suitable for underground tanks. NEW - Now with built-in FUEL THEFT ALARM.
Unlike traditional oil tank contents gauges, Apollo Smart allows you to monitor the volume of usable fuel remaining inside your tank, heating oil consumption, energy costs, air temperature and carbon emissions from the warmth, comfort and convenience of your home. Measuring key indicators of system efficiency helps you to identify interventions to reduce heating oil consumption, energy costs and carbon emissions.
Apollo Smart is a two-piece system, which comprises a tank top transmitter unit and a receiver unit. The wireless transmitter unit is suitable for use with almost any oil tank up to 3 metres tall (19000 litres max.), irrespective of manufacturer or material of construction. The receiver unit incorporates a premium quality LCD and simply plugs into a standard electrical socket, with no wiring or electrical work required.
How it works
The Apollo Smart transmitter unit can be fitted to almost any oil tank, with no specialist tools or training required. The unit is simply affixed to the tank via the pre-drilled 32mm diameter aperture, found on most tanks produced in the UK and Ireland since the late 1990s, and retained with 2 self-tappers (supplied). The transmitter unit monitors the level of fuel inside the tank, measuring fuel levels and consumption.
Now also with the new added alarm enhancement, should the transmitter detect a sudden drop of fuel inside the tank outside normal consumption conditions, it will automatically alert the Smart receiver unit to the event which will then sound an audible alert to warn the customer.
The Smart receiver unit also incorporates a unique days-to-empty facility, which shows you how many days' supply of fuel remains. The risk of running out of oil is further reduced by an inbuilt low-level alert with an audible warning alarm and, again new for the 2013/2014 heating season, the unit will also come complete with an audible inbuilt fuel theft alarm.
This data is transmitted to the receiver unit, which can be positioned up to 150 metres from the transmitter unit, where it is analysed and displayed on an intuitive and easy-to-read display.
For cleaner, safer refuelling, the Apollo Smart transmitter unit incorporates an inbuilt level display, allowing fuel delivery personnel to monitor tank levels before, during and after delivery.

Delivery Terms
The delivery of a tank can be confusing as each manufacturer offers a slightly different service and lead time. Please refer to our Delivery Information page. Standard tank deliveries are "kerbside", which means the tank will be delivered to the kerb only and not positioned further. Should you have specific delivery requirements or restrictions, please contact us to discuss.
Tanks over 2,500L — articulated lorry, customer offload
These tanks are delivered on an articulated vehicle (approximately 16.5m long × 2.6m wide × 3m high) which has no offloading on board. It is the customer's responsibility to offload the tank, which may require a telehandler or forklift.
Curtain-sided vehicles are also used, so please note that if there are obstacles or overhanging branches on the road to the delivery site, the driver may refuse to drive to the location due to the risk of damaging the vehicle. Please let us know about any obstructions before delivery so we can arrange alternative transport.
18-tonne tail-lift HGV
This vehicle is roughly the size of the largest bin lorries — approximately 8.2m long × 2.6m wide × 4m high, and often curtain-sided. If there are overhanging branches, these vehicles will not attempt the route, so a smaller vehicle should be requested.
Tanks are lowered to the ground but not positioned, as this is a kerbside delivery. If a smaller vehicle is required, email sales@fueltankshop.co.uk quoting your order number and name.
HIAB delivery
HIAB delivery is available but must be requested, and carries an additional cost. Email sales@fueltankshop.co.uk quoting your order number and name, and we'll come back to you with a price.
Accessories
Most accessories are delivered within 1–3 working days. Certain products and postcodes may take longer — check the product page for current information. If you need them sooner we can sometimes offer a next-day service; please contact us to discuss. If an item is out of stock we'll advise the expected lead time, and you're free to cancel for a full refund.
Returns Information
Customers may return items within 14 calendar days, as set out in section 7 of our Terms & Conditions.
All items must be returned unused. Refunds cannot be issued for used or previously installed items.
Please be aware that returning a tank can be complicated and expensive, so do check you're ordering the correct item — we strongly suggest checking the dimensions carefully before you buy.
