Atlas 650BSA 650 Litre Slimline Bunded Oil Tank

Product Overview

The Atlas 650BSA 650 Litre Slimline Bunded Oil Tank is a compact, double-skinned heating oil storage tank designed for domestic and commercial fuel oil applications. With a 650 litre capacity, approximately 143 gallons, the Atlas 650BSA provides a practical storage solution where space is limited.

Its slimline dimensions make it particularly suitable for installations where a conventional wider oil tank may not be appropriate. The tank is manufactured from high-grade polyethylene and features a bunded, tank-within-a-tank construction for secondary containment.

Bunded Double-Skin Construction

The Atlas 650BSA features a bunded tank-within-a-tank design.

The inner tank acts as the primary storage vessel, while the outer tank provides secondary containment. In the event of a leak or spill from the inner tank, the outer bund is designed to contain the surplus fuel.

This double-skinned construction provides an additional layer of protection around the stored fuel and is suitable for applications where bunded oil storage is required.

High-Grade Polyethylene Construction

The Atlas 650BSA is manufactured from high-grade polyethylene and is British made. The tank material is corrosion resistant, has high impact strength and is UV stabilised, making it suitable for outdoor oil storage applications.

The manufacturer also states that Atlas tanks are CE marked and comply with the applicable European standards.

Applications

The Atlas 650BSA is designed for domestic and commercial heating oil storage where a compact, bunded tank is required.

Typical applications include:

  • Domestic heating oil storage
  • Residential properties
  • Commercial premises
  • Small businesses
  • Agricultural properties
  • Heating oil installations
  • Sites with restricted installation space

Its slimline profile makes it particularly useful where the width available for an oil tank is limited.

Delivery

The Atlas 650BSA is supplied using Fuel Tank Shop's standard kerbside delivery service. This means the tank is delivered to the kerb and is not positioned further into the property.

We recommend not to book any installation or machinery until the tank has been delivered. We will not be responsible for any additional cost occurred with delayed deliveries.

Failed deliveries may result in additional charges.

Collection may be available ex works (Please contact us in regards to this option).

DELIVERY IN 5-7 WORKING DAYS

The delivery of a tank can be confusing as each manufacturer offers a slightly different service and lead time. Please refer to our Delivery Information page. Standard tank deliveries are "kerbside", which means the tank will be delivered to the kerb only and not positioned further. Should you have specific delivery requirements or restrictions, please contact us to discuss.

Tanks over 2,500L — articulated lorry, customer offload

These tanks are delivered on an articulated vehicle (approximately 16.5m long × 2.6m wide × 3m high) which has no offloading on board. It is the customer's responsibility to offload the tank, which may require a telehandler or forklift.

Curtain-sided vehicles are also used, so please note that if there are obstacles or overhanging branches on the road to the delivery site, the driver may refuse to drive to the location due to the risk of damaging the vehicle. Please let us know about any obstructions before delivery so we can arrange alternative transport.

18-tonne tail-lift HGV

This vehicle is roughly the size of the largest bin lorries — approximately 8.2m long × 2.6m wide × 4m high, and often curtain-sided. If there are overhanging branches, these vehicles will not attempt the route, so a smaller vehicle should be requested.

Tanks are lowered to the ground but not positioned, as this is a kerbside delivery. If a smaller vehicle is required, email sales@fueltankshop.co.uk quoting your order number and name.

HIAB delivery

HIAB delivery is available but must be requested, and carries an additional cost. Email sales@fueltankshop.co.uk quoting your order number and name, and we'll come back to you with a price.

Accessories

Most accessories are delivered within 1–3 working days. Certain products and postcodes may take longer — check the product page for current information. If you need them sooner we can sometimes offer a next-day service; please contact us to discuss. If an item is out of stock we'll advise the expected lead time, and you're free to cancel for a full refund.

Returns Information

Customers may return items within 14 calendar days, as set out in section 7 of our Terms & Conditions.

All items must be returned unused. Refunds cannot be issued for used or previously installed items.

Please be aware that returning a tank can be complicated and expensive, so do check you're ordering the correct item — we strongly suggest checking the dimensions carefully before you buy.

How to return an item

  • Complete the form on our returns page with details of your order.
  • Once your request is approved, we'll issue a Returns Authorisation Number (RAN) along with instructions on how and where to return your order, and any costs involved.
  • Please do not return any goods without this authorisation. Goods cannot be accepted without a valid RAN.
  • Returns are not accepted at our Minehead office. Please wait until we contact you before returning anything.

What is a bunded tank?

A bunded tank consists of a 'tank within a tank'.

The inner tank is the primary storage vessel, whilst the outer tank acts as a failsafe.

In the event of a spill, surplus fuel will safely and securely be stored within the outer tank and an environmental pollution incident will be averted.

Installation requirements

This Oil Tank must be installed and maintained in accordance to the current OFTEC guidelines, by an OFTEC Registered Technician or similarly competent person.

Fuel Tank Shop and the manufacturer will not be responsible for oil tank installations which do not comply with these requirements.

OFTEC Base Construction Guidelines (in brief):

  • Adequate for the weight of the tank when full
  • Non-combustible, imperforate and level
  • Constructed of concrete, paving stones or stonework
  • Large enough to extend 300mm beyond ALL sides of the tanks
