Product Overview
The Deso VLP5000PDD 5000 Litre Bunded Diesel Dispensing Tank is a low-profile, above-ground fuel storage and dispensing solution designed for commercial, agricultural, industrial and fleet applications. With a 4,955-litre actual tank volume and 110% bunded construction, it provides secure on-site storage and convenient dispensing of diesel and HVO.
The tank is supplied with a 230V pump, 6-metre delivery hose, automatic shut-off nozzle, 10-micron water and particulate filter, overfill prevention valve and clock-type contents gauge. Optional digital flow meter and 8-metre hose reel configurations are also available.

110% Bunded Tank Construction
The VLP5000PDD features 110% bunded construction, incorporating a primary fuel storage tank within a secondary outer containment tank.
The inner tank acts as the main storage vessel while the outer bund provides secondary containment. In the event of a spill or failure of the primary tank, the outer tank is designed to retain the surplus fuel and help prevent an environmental pollution incident.
Diesel, Gas Oil and HVO Storage
The VLP5000PDD is designed for fuel oil (A2) and gas oil/diesel, including biofuel HVO, within the manufacturer's stated BS EN specifications.
The product page references BS EN 2869, BS EN 590 and BS EN 15940 for the stated fuel applications.
The tank is specifically not suitable for the storage of kerosene. Only fuels approved for the tank and its dispensing equipment should be stored and dispensed through the system.
230V Dispensing Pump
The standard VLP5000PDD configuration includes a 230V pump. The product page also provides an optional 240V pump configuration with a 100 lpm flow rate.
The standard pump is supplied with a 3-pin "Caravan Style" plug and 1.8-metre power cable, allowing the dispensing system to be connected to a suitable electrical supply.
Fuel Filtration and Overfill Protection
The standard tank includes a 10-micron water and particulate filter to help filter contaminants from fuel during dispensing.
An overfill prevention valve is also included, providing an additional safety feature during tank filling.
The clock-type contents gauge provides a simple visual indication of the fuel level within the tank.

The 4,955-litre tank volume provides a substantial on-site fuel reserve for operations that require regular refuelling of vehicles and machinery.
Delivery and Offloading
Standard tank delivery is kerbside, meaning the tank is delivered to the kerb and is not positioned into its final installation location. Tanks over 2,500 litres are delivered on an articulated vehicle, approximately 16.5 metres long × 2.6 metres wide × 3 metres high, with no onboard offloading equipment.
The customer is responsible for arranging suitable offloading equipment, which may include a telehandler or forklift.
The delivery route should be checked carefully for narrow access, overhanging branches and other obstructions. Fuel Tank Shop notes that curtain-sided vehicles may be used and that drivers may refuse routes where there is a risk of vehicle damage.
HIAB delivery is available by request at additional cost.

Delivery Terms

The delivery of a tank can be confusing as each manufacturer offers a slightly different service and lead time. Please refer to our Delivery Information page. Standard tank deliveries are "kerbside", which means the tank will be delivered to the kerb only and not positioned further. Should you have specific delivery requirements or restrictions, please contact us to discuss.
Tanks over 2,500L — articulated lorry, customer offload
These tanks are delivered on an articulated vehicle (approximately 16.5m long × 2.6m wide × 3m high) which has no offloading on board. It is the customer's responsibility to offload the tank, which may require a telehandler or forklift.
Curtain-sided vehicles are also used, so please note that if there are obstacles or overhanging branches on the road to the delivery site, the driver may refuse to drive to the location due to the risk of damaging the vehicle. Please let us know about any obstructions before delivery so we can arrange alternative transport.
18-tonne tail-lift HGV
This vehicle is roughly the size of the largest bin lorries — approximately 8.2m long × 2.6m wide × 4m high, and often curtain-sided. If there are overhanging branches, these vehicles will not attempt the route, so a smaller vehicle should be requested.
Tanks are lowered to the ground but not positioned, as this is a kerbside delivery. If a smaller vehicle is required, email sales@fueltankshop.co.uk quoting your order number and name.
HIAB delivery
HIAB delivery is available but must be requested, and carries an additional cost. Email sales@fueltankshop.co.uk quoting your order number and name, and we'll come back to you with a price.

Returns Information
Customers may return items within 14 calendar days, as set out in section 7 of our Terms & Conditions.
All items must be returned unused. Refunds cannot be issued for used or previously installed items.
Please be aware that returning a tank can be complicated and expensive, so do check you're ordering the correct item — we strongly suggest checking the dimensions carefully before you buy.
How to return an item
- Complete the form on our returns page with details of your order.
- Once your request is approved, we'll issue a Returns Authorisation Number (RAN) along with instructions on how and where to return your order, and any costs involved.
- Please do not return any goods without this authorisation. Goods cannot be accepted without a valid RAN.
- Returns are not accepted at our Minehead office. Please wait until we contact you before returning anything.
